GRUB KICKER BLACK BEANS
*The basis for developing the original signature Grub Kicker
Appalachian spice blend.
A simple full-flavored recipe, great complement when utilizing other Grub Kicker spice blends for grilling or roasting meat, seafood, fish, poultry, and vegetables.
- DRIED BLACK BEANS: 16 oz
- VEGETABLE STOCK (LOW SODIUM): 6 CUPS
- TOMATO PASTE: 2 TBS
- GRUB KICKER APPALACHIAN: 3 TBS
1 - Place beans in thick bottom pot, cover with 6 cups of stock, bring up to a boil then cover and turn down to simmer on low for 45 minutes. Check and stir occasionally for even absorption and cooking.
2 - After simmering, turn heat off and fully incorporate the tomato paste and Grub Kicker Appalachian spice blend, cover and rest for 30 minutes.
3 - When ready to complete, re-heat and simmer on low for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Depending on the beans and desired firmness, cook longer and add a little water as necessary.
GRUB DRIZZLE
A great way to quickly enhance and elevate your food is to simply drizzle with olive oil and liberally sprinkle on your preferred Grub Kicker spice blend and sauté, roast, broil, or grill your vegetables, meat, or fish.
